Medicine & surgery: an integrated textbook [Book]
By Eric Kian Saik Lim, Yoon Kong Loke, Alastair M. Thompson - Churchill Livingstone (2007) - Paperback - 1042 pages - ISBN 0443072604
Note that the passcode for online version of this book had not been scrap off!!

Quoted from Amazon :
This is a stunning new hybrid textbook that has evolved as a direct response to the increasing integration of the two disciplines of medicine and surgery in today's medical curricula. The advantage of this combined approach is it reduces the amount of reading by the elimination of repetition (and inconsistencies) to provide an integrated explanation of the common problems faced both by students during exams and clinicians in daily practice. This book's greatest asset is the ability to illustrate that medical and surgical treatment options are actually part of a continuum in the management of disease. An integrated textbook combining the two major clinical specialities of general medicine and general surgery.Written and edited by a team of physicians and surgeons supported by a team of specialist subject advisors.Puts medicine and surgery in the context of the continuum of disease management and outlines a comprehensive and structured approach to patient management.Adopts a current evidence-based approach with extensive use of national and international guidelines.A full colour textbook with innovative design features and illustrations.

Market Price: £44.64 / RM 220.30

ESRF

The lesson of the day is: DO NOT CONSUME SLIMMING PILL if you don't know the content, and even you know, DONT eat it as well, you'll never know when the interstitial nephritis sets in and when will the kidney decided to fail.....Had heard of people eating slimming pill till kidney damage, but i never seen one before.

Today in clinic, i saw one patient, having ESRF due to probably drug induced. Fingers point towards the slimming pill. Now got to suffer the PD and later HD. Sigh, i'm quite speechless when heard of it. Really, now so many slimming pills available, but the side effects won't be revealed by the company. So play safe, get slim by the correct way, like doing exercise. Don't be like me oso, get slim through anorexic, it's not good oso. Sigh, who ask us be girls.
Went back Seremban last weekend, for the support of dear Nick for the audition and also this performance in Seremban parade.

Really a great performance!

A picture of us taken prior to the performance. I think Nick's hairstyle is very cool!!!

LongWeekend

After a super long weekend, i'm back to this Batu Pahat starting another busy life. Sigh, how nice if i can stay back in Seremban........Anyway, i came back with mixed feeling, and i found out things that make me more shock.

First, in order to follow up patient, i went back to ward and to my surprise, for such urgent case, until now the main investigation result not yet out. sigh. should i blamed people for not putting such urgent case in priority or should i just tell myself to accept the fact. probably i should just take this as my lesson and work harder next time.

Then another patient, to my super duper surprise, the outcome is really really heart-breaking. So people out there, youngster or whoever, DO NOT PLAY WITH PARAQUAT, It's a super life threatening condition.............I left batu pahat with the hope that this week i came back, i can see a more cheerful patient which recover from adjustment disorder. But when i'm in Seremban, my friend inform me my patient is transferred to ICU. I still gave some hope that probably after the supportive care we provide, patient will recover from the chemical pneumonitis. But today i went to ICU, i'm very very sad n surprise to find out that, my patient had been discharged vertically.

Youngster, if you don't intend to die, do not mess with those toxin stuff. I can imagine how sad is the parents of this patient, and i still remember the condition of this patient when he first admitted. Life is sooo precious.

Next to talk about food, read from website, also seen from my lecturer's slides while he is teaching on Diabetes. Guess what, i had been going for Diabetes Mellitus class once a week for the past 2 and a half months. DM is such a big topic and such distressing illness........Pls stop drinking Coca-Cola........and eat like this everyday:

Means most of the food that we take in should be consists of lots n lots of fiber. Don't ignore proteins, if not you'll end up like me, have super low urea level, inadequate muscle mass and low calcium level.

Just want to show some food picture...The duck noodle i ate that day
and Snow Flakes!

Some nice animation pictures to show. above Boy-Girl Relationship....

Nice one!!

Till then.

Be Encouraged Today

Read this today. quite inspiring. Have you been crying out to the Lord for something? Maybe there’s a situation in your life that’s been overwhelming, and you feel like you’ve done everything you know to do and can’t see a way through. Be encouraged today because we serve a God of justice! He is faithful to His Word, and He will always be faithful to you. Not only is He a God of justice, He is your vindicator. One thing we have to remember is that our battle is not with the person who may have wronged us. Scripture says that the enemy of our souls, the accuser of the brethren is our ultimate enemy. Know today that God already has a plan; He already knows the future, and He will bring about justice! Before eternity is through, He will right the wrongs that have been done to you. Your part is to release the situation into His capable hands. You don’t have to straighten everybody out or right the wrongs in your life, that’s God’s job. Trust Him with your future because the God of justice is working things out on your behalf! Father God, today I release every care, every concern, and every situation that is beyond my control. I trust that You are working things out for my good, and You are bringing justice to me. Thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
